Cyprus disabled holiday - complete wheelchair access at C&A Tourist Apartments in Polis

C & A Tourist Apartments have an extremely spacious three-bedroom apartment sleeping up to a maximum of 6.

This apartment is on an upper level and is accessed by means of a lift, with a stairway for the more able bodied visitor. The doorway to the lift measures 80cms with a length of 114cms. (please check your wheelchair dimensions. You may find that some visitors find it better to remove the leg rests to gain better entry into the lift.)

The large bedrooms all have separate air conditioning units, (prices payable locally). The main bedroom has an en-suite bathroom with a roll-in shower and grab rails throughout with drop down bars on each side of the toilet. It has been very carefully thought out, with the main emphasis being on accessibility for the disabled guests. The main bedroom has patio doors leading to a covered balcony and the other two bedrooms have a balcony overlooking the pool. These two bedrooms are also of a large size .

Along the corridor from the main bedroom there is a second smaller guest bathroom. This again has a roll in shower with grab rails for ease of transfers etc.

The apartment also has a third toilet/washbasin, but this is only a small room and not wheelchair accessible. In total the apartment has 3 toilets.

The kitchen is a fully functional one with modern cupboards and units as well as all the main appliances, making life all that bit easier for our guests. It is complete with a dishwasher, electric cooker and hob with extractor, microwave, fridge and washing machine, toaster, etc.

Once again, space is of importance and here there is room to manoeuvre. The kitchen has a door leading to the balcony that over looks the pool area, as well as the fragrant orange and lemon trees.

The lounge is spacious throughout, lots of room for a wheelchair user to get around with no obstacles in your way. It is furnished throughout with excellent inside and outside dining area and seating. There is a television and DVD player.

Equipment such as scooters, power chairs, commodes, hoists, electric beds, bed levers, air mattress, rollators, etc are available on site for hire. (pre booking is essential)

Please note that for safety reasons smoking is prohibited in all rooms.

Wireless Internet connection is available for those wishing to bring their laptop with them.

Well lit, underground parking bays are available as is a lift to take you to your required floor level.

The toilet heights is 45cm but raised toilet seats should they be required are available at no charge.

Bed height is 58cm.

The reason I appear in most of the photos is not because I am photogenic, but to ensure you that I have tested the "situations" personally - as a wheelchair user
